My practice is called East Limerick Veterinary Centre. It is a long established country veterinary practice located in Caherconlish County Limerick.

Caherconlish is a village of 1000 inhabitants which is a 12 to 15 minutes drive from Limerick City, which has 100,000 inhabitants. It is located in the Golden Vale, a region of Prime Farmland in the south-west of Ireland.


My practice is a traditional Irish mixed practice. The breakdown of the work is as follows; 65% bovine, 30% canine/feline, 3 to 4% equine, and 1 to 2% ovine.

There is a full-time veterinary nurse and experienced support staff who organise the work very well.

There is a large animal ultrasound scanner, a bovine electro ejaculator and a callicrate bander. On the small animal side there is an anaesthetic machine, a digital x-ray machine, a dental machine and a microscope.

Stellenbeschreibung

The position is mainly for a ruminant vet but the level of small animal work can be tailored to suit the individual candidate.

The ruminant work would be be 50% ambulatory clinical work and disease investigations, and 50% ambulatory routine work such as tuberculosis testing, ultrasound scanning, diagnostic sampling for herd health, bull fertility testing, castrating, and dehorning.

Anforderungen

3-4 Years experience in Ruminant Medicine.
Interest in learning and improving oneself.
Caring disposition to patients and clients.
Ability to be on sole call an advantage but not essential.

Wir bieten

Remuneration is negotiable and would be between €50,000 and €70,000 per annum depending on experience and ability to cover out of hours. Out-of-hours rota is 1-in 3 from January to June and 1-in 5 from June to January.

Subsistence is provided at Irish Civil Service rates. For candidates with own transport mileage and subsistence is provided at Irish Civil Service rates, (1000/ month approx tax-free).

A vehicle can be provided if necessary. All equipment will be provided as necessary. Accommodation can be arranged. Travelling costs to Ireland will be covered. There will be 20 days paid holidays and 2 days paid CVE. Professional Indemnity Insurance and registration with the Veterinary Council of Ireland will also be paid for.

There would also be an option for a friend or partner of the successful candidate to work in the practice doing mixed animal or small animal work. Contact me for more details on this position.
